Privacy policy

1. Local app information and downloaded sounds

Fan Noises stores downloaded sound files and the status of the Remove Ads purchase in the app's local storage. Playback state, such as the selected sound, is used to operate the player. We do not operate a Fan Noises account system or require you to provide a name or email address to use the sounds. The app does not upload a personal sound library or a record of your listening selections to an Avocado Toast Co. account.

Your device may include local app data in an iCloud or computer backup depending on your Apple settings. Apple manages these backups under its own terms and privacy practices. Fan Noises does not request access to your precise GPS location, contacts, microphone, camera, or photos.

2. Sound downloads and network requests

When you select a sound that is not already cached, the app requests the sound file from our sound-hosting service at www.brewcouldsupport.com. That service and its hosting or network providers may receive your IP address, request time, requested sound-file URL, and other connection information needed to deliver and secure the file. A requested URL identifies which sound file is being downloaded. We use these requests to provide playback and local caching; the app can reuse a downloaded file without downloading it again.

Sound playback can continue in the background. Background playback does not record conversations or collect microphone audio.

3. Advertising and consent information

Fan Noises uses Google AdMob to display advertisements and Google's User Messaging Platform to manage applicable advertising privacy choices. Depending on your choices, device settings, region, and the ads served, Google and advertising partners may process IP addresses and approximate location inferred from them; device, app, and advertising identifiers; ad views and interactions; and crash, diagnostic, and performance information. They use this information to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud, and maintain and improve their services.

Consent services process and store information needed to determine which privacy messages to display and remember your decisions. In app versions with the updated consent integration, advertising requests are made only when the consent service permits them. Apple's advertising identifier is available for cross-app tracking only when you grant the relevant iOS permission. Apple attribution mechanisms may also support advertising measurement without access to that identifier.

4. Your advertising choices

When required for your region, updated versions of Fan Noises provide Ad Privacy Choices in the settings menu, allowing you to reopen available advertising privacy choices and update or withdraw consent. To change Apple's tracking permission, use iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Declining tracking permission does not prevent you from using the app; ads that do not rely on tracking may still appear.

Depending on where you live, you may be entitled to opt out of processing for targeted advertising or activities described as the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under applicable law. Use the available Ad Privacy Choices to exercise advertising opt-outs, or contact us for help. We do not sell the downloaded sound files or purchase-status settings stored locally on your device. Changing a choice applies going forward and does not undo processing that occurred before that change.

Older app versions may not include all these controls. Update to a version that provides Ad Privacy Choices when available, use Apple's tracking controls, or contact us for assistance.

5. Purchases

Fan Noises offers an in-app purchase to remove advertisements. Apple processes the transaction through the App Store. We do not receive your complete payment-card information. Apple provides transaction and entitlement information needed to complete, verify, or restore the purchase. Removing ads stops the app's banner advertisements; it does not delete past provider records or necessarily disable other operational or analytics processing. Apple's handling of purchase information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and its terms.

6. Analytics, reports, and website hosting

The app includes Google Analytics for Firebase. When analytics collection is enabled for an app version and configuration, Google may process app-instance identifiers, device and app information, app usage and interaction events, purchase events, and advertising-performance information to measure app use and performance. Collection and advertising use depend on the applicable configuration, consent choices, and device settings. We do not use the app to record microphone audio or collect precise GPS location. We receive advertising reports from Google, such as earnings and ad-performance summaries. Our providers may process operational and diagnostic information even when a particular analytics feature is disabled. Earlier app versions may use different SDK versions or settings.

Cloudflare, our website hosting provider, may process request information such as IP address, browser details, request time, and requested URL to deliver and secure this website. This policy page does not add an advertising or analytics script. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

7. Information you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any information or attachments you choose to provide. We use that information to respond, troubleshoot, and maintain a record of the request. Avoid sending sensitive information unless it is needed for your request.

8. Retention, deletion, and security

Downloaded sounds and local settings remain in the app's storage until that storage is removed. Deleting the app through iOS removes its local app data; merely offloading the app may retain it. Backups can retain separate copies and restore data later, so manage those copies through your Apple backup settings. We cannot delete information remotely from your device or Apple backups. Apple may retain purchase entitlements independently of app deletion so purchases can be restored.

We retain support correspondence and service records for as long as reasonably needed to address requests, deliver and secure our services, or meet applicable obligations. Google, advertising partners, Apple, Cloudflare, and sound-hosting providers have their own retention practices for information they process. You may contact those providers or use their privacy controls as appropriate.

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

9. Privacy rights and international processing

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; or complain to a data protection authority. Contact us using the address below. We may need information to verify and respond to a request, and some rights are subject to exceptions. You may use an authorized agent where applicable. We do not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Where a legal basis is required, we rely on consent for processing that requires it, on providing the service you request for necessary app or support functions, and on legitimate interests such as service security where permitted. Service providers may process information outside your country, subject to the safeguards and practices described in their privacy policies.

10. Children

Fan Noises is a general-audience relaxation and focus tool, including sounds that caregivers may play for babies. It does not ask for a child's name, age, or other personal information, and playing a baby-soothing sound does not record or monitor the child. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and address it.

11. Changes and contact
