Privacy policy

1. Mileage information

The app uses the readings and fuel amounts you enter to calculate and display fuel economy, history, and charts. These records are stored in the app’s local database. The app does not upload your mileage records to an Avocado Toast Co. server or intentionally send their contents to advertising services. We cannot access those local records remotely.

Your device’s operating system may include app data in an iCloud or computer backup, depending on your Apple settings. Apple manages those backups under its own terms and privacy practices. MPG Tracker does not request GPS location, contacts, microphone, or camera access for mileage tracking.

2. Advertising and consent information

MPG Tracker uses Google AdMob to display advertisements and Google’s User Messaging Platform to manage applicable advertising privacy choices. Depending on your choices, device settings, region, and the ads served, Google and advertising partners may process IP addresses and approximate location inferred from them; device, app, and advertising identifiers; ad views and interactions; and crash, diagnostic, and performance information. They use this information to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud, and maintain and improve their services.

Consent services process and store information needed to determine which privacy messages to display and remember your decisions. Where required, advertising requests are made only after the consent service permits them. Apple’s advertising identifier is available for tracking only when you grant the relevant iOS permission.

3. Your advertising choices

In versions of MPG Tracker that include the Ad Privacy button, use it to reopen the privacy choices that are available for your region. You can update or withdraw consent through those options. To change Apple tracking permission, use iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Declining tracking permission does not prevent you from using the mileage features; ads that do not rely on tracking may still appear.

Depending on where you live, you may be entitled to opt out of processing for targeted advertising or activities described as the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under applicable law. Use the available Ad Privacy choices to exercise advertising opt-outs, or contact us for help. We do not sell the mileage records stored locally on your device. Changing a choice applies going forward and does not undo processing that occurred before that change.

Older app versions may not include all of these in-app controls. Update to a version that provides Ad Privacy when available, use Apple’s tracking controls, or contact us for assistance.

4. Analytics and service providers

The updated app configuration keeps standalone Firebase Analytics collection disabled. Google’s advertising and consent services may still process the advertising, operational, and diagnostic information described above. Earlier app versions may use different SDK versions or settings.

We receive advertising reports from Google, such as earnings and ad performance summaries. We use service providers to host this page and operate our services. Cloudflare, our website hosting provider, may process request information such as IP address, browser details, request time, and requested URL to deliver and secure the website. This policy page does not add an advertising or analytics script. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.

5. Information you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any information or attachments you choose to provide. We use that information to respond, troubleshoot, and maintain a record of the request. Avoid sending sensitive information or complete mileage histories unless needed for your request.

6. Retention, deletion, and security

Local mileage information remains in the app’s storage until that storage is removed. Deleting the app through iOS removes its local app data; merely offloading the app may retain it. Backups can retain separate copies and can restore records later, so manage those copies through your Apple backup settings. We cannot delete records remotely from your device or Apple backups.

We retain support correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to address the request, maintain service records, or meet applicable obligations. Google, advertising partners, Apple, and Cloudflare have their own retention practices for information they process. You may contact those providers or use their privacy controls as appropriate.

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. Privacy rights and international processing

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; or complain to a data protection authority. Contact us using the address below. We may need information to verify and respond to a request, and some rights are subject to exceptions. You may use an authorised agent where applicable.

Where a legal basis is required, we rely on consent for processing that requires it, on providing the service you request for necessary app or support functions, and on legitimate interests such as service security where permitted. Service providers may process information outside your country, subject to the safeguards and practices described in their privacy policies.

8. Children

MPG Tracker is a general-audience mileage tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and address it.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app, its providers, or applicable requirements. The effective date above identifies the latest revision. For privacy questions or requests, contact Avocado Toast Co. at avocadotoastco@gmail.com.
